What is a Transporter's Range?

While the puppet episode of Strange New Worlds left a lot to be desired, It did get me thinking on the ranges of transporters and how that has changed over the years of in universe lore of Star Trek. Beginning with the Enterprise era's original design by Emery Erickson and moving through to the Next Generation's designs, we can actually see a pretty consisted development of transporter technology and its upper limits.
